Felix Frachon Gallery is delighted to present the solo show exhibtion of Prathap Modi:

Self

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

Surpassing our conception of printmaking as a medium, especially woodcutting, Prathap Modi redefines this old medium as a contemporary practice, through his large scale woodblocks and prints.
In his solo-show:  Self, Prathap Modi’s artworks, depict a « metaphoric world » where nature, colors, symbolisms and the « Selfportraits » of the artist merge.
In every single one of the works exhibited at Félix Frachon Gallery, one faces an alternative « self », either life sized or bigger.
Hence, a dialog starts between the work and the observer, through which the artist invites the viewer to follow his questions about our modern society, our relation with the past, present and future, our interconnection and alienation from one-another and the modern worship of the ego in the midst of colored frames.
