We are pleased to announce our new exhibition – LUT – with the Iranian photographic artist  Tahmineh Monzavi

Born in 1988, Tahmineh Monzavi lives and works in Tehran. She is a socially conscious photographer. She began her professional career as a documentary photographer in 2005. Tahmineh created her own style to capture and explore in the fields of Artistic and Documentary photography, with honesty and fearlessness.

In the artist’s first series, She started to explore Tehran, the hidden from the public eye life of the transsexuals and homeless women, the harsh living conditions and drug abuse. She has also worked on other socially involved series such as Brides of Mokhber al-Dowleh and Grape garden alley, some of the photographs from the last series will be shown in LUT exhibition at Félix Frachon gallery.

In the recent years, Tahmineh Monzavi has been captivated by the ruins of the historical architecture of Iran and Afghanistan especially in the series Past Continuous, Red Soil Cold Soil, and the last one, Lut, shown on this occasion at Félix Frachon gallery. Those dramatic landscapes explore the mysterious nature that initiated a deep desire for the exploration of the introspection.

Her works have been exhibited nationally and internationally: Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), MAXXI museum of Roma, Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, the National Portrait Gallery in London and many others.
